The Reine Claude Oullins plum tree is a robust and hardy variety that is easy to grow. It can withstand difficult conditions and is not very susceptible to disease. This fruit tree needs well-drained, nutrient-rich soil to produce delicious fruit.
The Reine Claude d'Oullins is a variety of plum tree that appeared in the Ain region around 1860.
An excellent pollinator for other plum trees, its late flowering is quite resistant to spring frosts.
Its large, yellow fruit, covered with a white bloom, offers firm, juicy and aromatic greenish flesh, although moderately sweet.
Although very productive, this variety has inconsistent yields from year to year, with harvesting taking place from late July to mid-August. Particularly well-suited to processing, it excels in preserves and jams.
