Fig tree - Babit

The Babit fig tree, a reddish-brown variety from Central Europe, is distinguished by its high tolerance to cold and its ability to fruit twice a year in cool conditions. The fruits, weighing 80 to 100 g, have dark red flesh.

Partenocarpic, this variety does not require pollination by the fig wasp: the blastophage.

Cultivated since ancient times, the fig tree thrives in dry, sunny areas and is valued worldwide for its flowers and fruits, which often persist on the branches after the leaves have fallen.
