The Roscoff fig tree (Capuchin Fig Tree) is an emblematic cultivar that was saved before being completely eliminated in 1987 to be replaced by a hotel and its concrete parking lot.

It is distinguished by its large, elongated fruits with greenish hues and white flesh, renowned for their deliciously sweet taste. This is the "Sao Joao Blanco" variety, originating from Portugal.

The uniferous fig tree "Sao Joao Blanco" is a large, vigorous tree that produces abundant breba figs. Its fruits have a light green to yellow-green skin and white pulp. For optimal flavor, it is recommended to harvest the figs when fully ripe, or to let them ripen for 2 to 3 days after harvesting if they are picked too early.

Since ancient times, the fig tree has thrived in dry, sunny areas and is valued worldwide for its flowers and fruits, which often persist on the branches after the leaves have fallen.
